Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
This policy explains what SearchDose collects, how we use it, who we share it with and how to have it deleted. SearchDose is a web application that shows website owners which SEO work is likely to help their site most. This policy applies to the SearchDose website and app.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password. We store passwords only as a one-way hash.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact us.
Information from Google
If you choose to use Google with SearchDose, we receive the following.
- Sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID. Google also makes your basic profile available to us during sign-in, but we do not store your profile picture.
- Connect Search Console: with your permission, read-only access to your Google Search Console account through the
webmasters.readonlyscope. This covers the list of sites you can access in Search Console and their search performance data, such as queries, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position. We also store the email address of the connected Google account and the access and refresh tokens Google issues. We cannot change anything in your Search Console account.
Information collected automatically
- Website visits: our hosting provider may log technical details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the site.
- Session data: in the app, your IP address, browser user agent and last activity time, which we keep to keep you signed in and protect your account.
- Verification codes: a hashed copy of each one-time code we email you, with its expiry time and the number of attempts made.
- Cookies: only those needed to run the app. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
- To create your account, sign you in and verify your email address.
- To send you verification and password reset codes, and other messages about the service.
- To show you your Search Console data and recommend and rank SEO work for your sites.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and meet our legal obligations.
- To maintain and improve the features you use.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data
SearchDose's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular:
- Use: we use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of SearchDose. We use your Search Console data only to show you your own data and recommendations for your own sites.
- Sharing: we do not transfer Google user data to anyone except the infrastructure providers that run SearchDose for us, when necessary to provide or improve those features, to comply with the law or to protect against security threats, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets with your notice and consent to any change in how it is used.
- Prohibited uses: we do not sell Google user data, use or transfer it to serve ads, including retargeting, personalised or interest-based ads, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. We do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers.
- Human access: our staff do not read Google user data unless you give us your explicit consent to look at specific data, it is needed for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is needed to comply with the law, or it has been aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.
- AI and machine learning: we do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised or non-personalised AI or machine learning models.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only as follows.
- Service providers: companies that host the website, app and database and deliver our email. They may use the information only to provide those services to us.
- Google: when you use Google sign-in or connect Search Console, we exchange the information needed for that with Google. Google's handling of it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Legal and safety reasons: when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our users, the public or SearchDose.
- Business transfers: if SearchDose is part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We will notify you first, and Google user data will stay subject to this policy's commitments unless you consent otherwise.
How we protect information
Information is sent to and from the service over HTTPS. We encrypt Search Console access and refresh tokens in our database, and store passwords and verification codes only as hashes. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention and deletion
- Account and Google data: we keep your account information and Search Console tokens and data until you ask us to delete them or delete your account.
- Verification codes: codes expire after 30 minutes and are deleted when used or when a used-up or expired code is next checked or replaced.
- Sessions: session records expire after 120 minutes of inactivity and are then removed.
To delete your account or your Google data, email hello@searchdose.com from your account's email address. We will delete the data within 30 days, unless we must keep some of it to meet a legal obligation.
You can also stop our access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. This ends our access but does not delete data we already hold, so email us if you want that removed too.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email hello@searchdose.com. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, your consent (such as when you connect Search Console), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Children
SearchDose is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date above when this policy changes and tell you by email or in the app about significant changes. If we change how we use Google user data, we will notify you and ask for your consent first.
